As is the case with most industries, hoteliers have their secrets too. Find out some of them and learn how to get the best offer when booking rooms and enjoy all the benefits that many hotels offer.

You can get a better room if you arrive early - Chances to get a better room are increased if you arrive earlier in the hotel than it is needed, when rooms are being cleaned and inventory lists are being made. If there are better rooms in the hotel than that you have reserved, there is a chance that with a little talk you get one of them

You might get a better price if you call the hotel directly - No matter where on the internet you have found the prices, always call the hotel directly to get the best price. Look for a manager and tell him that you saw a price on the internet and ask if the hotel can offer you a better price. Hotels generally pay sites a commission for online booking, which is about 25 percent, so many hotels will offer a better price if you call, in order to avoid paying commissions.

You can negotiate about free stuff - While some hotels charge wireless internet or bottled water, you can get it for free if you ask in advance for these things to be free. When going to the hotel just check the account to make sure that you have not been charged the things they promised you as free.

More stars don’t mean better service - We should expect and demand great service regardless of the number of stars that the hotel has. They indicate differences in perks such as room size, but not quality of service .

You pay the location too - Vicinity of the hotel to certain sights, airport or the beach will cost you more.

You also pay the name - Try to compare the prices of a large chain of hotels and small, independent, modern hotel. The largest numbers of quality hotels in most cities are small hotels. If you opt for one of those small, independent hotels, you will have more opportunities to enjoy the specific location you visited.

You can ask for children portions - If you are traveling with a child, check whether the hotel offers children portions. If not, feel free to ask them to make a meal with a portion suitable for a child. Not only you will get small portion, but you will get a discount if you use room service.
