The balance between business and private is the ideal relationship between the time and energy that we devote to business and other important aspects of life.

Achieving a given balance is not a task once accomplished, it no longer calls our attention. Balancing these two spheres is a challenge we face every day.

Clearly, periods of reaching equilibrium are rare and difficult to achieve. After all, life is a constant movement between personal and professional goals, between career and other important aspects of life.

Yet, in order to resist and move closer to a balanced state, it is imperative that we learn to allow and forgive ourselves, to give up and take refuge, to be present in what we are currently doing. Presence and commitment, both physical and mental, are actually the best way of doing one thing, not letting something else interfere with us.

METHODOLOGY AND ORGANIZATION IN THE WORKPLACE

There are a number of ways in which, through the organization of the workplace, one can contribute to the alignment of the two spheres. Organizational culture, communication, the relationship of trust, freedom, and constraints all significantly affect workplace satisfaction and therefore the level of stress in employees. Excessive control rarely reflects well on employees. Also, when one of the employees is away or on vacation, it is not okay to expect him to always be willing and available to let us know. A good feature of any company is that it really makes your leisure time a holiday.

How we feel at work influences the aforementioned level of stress and certainly prevents our achievement in all fields from being satisfactory. If we know what is expected of us and stand out to others our expectations, if we have the freedom to exchange visions and ideas and not react impulsively in unforeseen situations, we are on our way to making our workplace more peaceful.


PERFECTIONISM

The irrational pursuit of perfection in everything we do is a common cause of dissatisfaction. Perfectionism is an anxiety problem, defined as disorder and coercion. The absolutist view that one has to be perfect requires great energy and mental investment and often leads to moods of a depressing and destructive character. Obsessiveness, self-criticism, and pettiness draw in even the tiniest of atoms of power, which often leads to feelings of helplessness and disappointment in oneself.

It is not wrong to set high goals. It is clear that development and progress are always looking for grand visions and plans. The problem lies in identifying and evaluating yourself with your successes and achievements. Every time he goes wrong or fails to meet his own expectations, the perfectionist experiences a fall. Over time, each fall intensifies the overall health, and the tiredness that comes as a consequence begins to bother people around us. The path to the cure of perfectionism is a long one, but also achievable if one chooses one. The fight against perfectionism requires a certain level of self-awareness and support so that the problem can be experienced and accepted and then worked on.

It is not the goal of expecting minimization. To avoid being overwhelmed and irrational discontent, try to replace the pursuit of perfection with the pursuit of the very good and excellent. Each renunciation requires determination, courage, and effort. If perfectionism affects your image and the image you have of yourself, try to eradicate it as soon as possible. Do not identify with your successes and failures, but view them as an experience to which you have certainly contributed through their efforts.


CONTINUOUS READY

Although it has done us a favor in terms of facilitated communication, technology has ushered in a vicious circle that almost no one else even resists. We have become available everywhere and to anyone, while our expectations of the availability of others are high.

When viewed from a business perspective, modern times have allowed us close proximity to employer, employees, proximity to clients and confidential information. Everything is at your fingertips and it is true that many feel relieved knowing that they can connect at any time, to access certain data or colleagues. Yet, put into practice and in the long run, continued availability puts a strain on our leisure time and makes it difficult to enter a state of peace.

Stop being on standby, especially if you really don't like it. Take off your phone, do not check business networks, let your employer and client know that working hours are exactly when you will always be available to them. The before and after the period is just yours.

Sometimes, in order to maintain control at a certain level, we, consciously or unconsciously, cannot separate ourselves from our work position. Focus control on healthy habits, turn off your phone or the internet, make your free time truly quality and free. It has been proven that people who are determined to save time for themselves and for relaxation actually have much greater and healthier control over themselves and their lives.


HEALTHY HABITS

The human autonomic nervous system, which is responsible, among other things, for heart function, blood pressure, and respiration, consists of two parts: the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Most often, when the sympathetic system triggers some organs, they are parasympathetically inhibited and vice versa. Sympathetic activation occurs in the event of danger, change or need for the organism to react and fight. On the other hand, the parasympathetic is more active when we are at rest. So, if we want to keep our balance and stay calm, we need to activate the parasympathetic nervous system as often as possible.

What we can consciously control and direct is breathing. With certain breathing techniques, we send impulses to the brain, which further acts to initiate the parasympathetic nervous system. Proper breathing is the first way we can overcome stress. Meditation exercises with the activation of the senses and focusing on the present moment are also great helpers when it comes to bringing the body to a state of peace.

Start your day with healthy habits, something that soothes and relaxes you. If you take a tense job, every job will look harder. Repeated dissatisfaction will shape you into a colleague who finds it difficult to communicate and collaborate. Don't become the person people shy away from.

Just thinking you don't do enough doesn't mean you're lazy. Also, not spending enough time with your loved ones doesn't mean you are a bad parent, partner or friend. Irrational beliefs give birth to frustrations of a chronic nature that are increasingly difficult to cope with. Of course, as everyone's vision of serenity is different, our task is to find and incorporate into our lives those habits that will continue and in the long run managed to activate our parasympathetic nervous system and bring ourselves to a state of peace.


DIRECTING THE CURRENT MOMENT

The formula is clear. If you are happy at work, you will be better at home. Conversely, if you are happy and fulfilled at home, you will be more cheerful and productive at work. Linked to balance and overall well-being, the realization of this formula in practice lies precisely in the commitment to the present moment.

Are you focused on the activities you are currently involved in? Are you totally focused on where you are and dedicated to those around you? With daily reminders, practice asking yourself these questions as often as possible. It will definitely be worth it.

Balance is not only achieved through the mechanical fulfillment of a series of obligations and tasks. Absence and absence of self-care and personal psychosomatic needs to make life in harmony impossible. Being highly engaged and proactive in the workplace does not mean that commitment to other aspects of life has to fail. It is precise with the care of the present moment that it is possible to achieve quality fulfilled working and private time.

Learn to respect your time and activities. Don't miss life's moments by constantly looking back at the obligations that await you. Identify everything you want to commit to, and then determine your actual needs and priorities.

No one in your place can make the decision, relinquish it or rule in your favor. People will always look at you and treat you exactly as you teach them. Remember, it is only after you have established the boundaries and connected with the present that life harmony will be possible.
