Which technological trends will change our lives?

How AI will take over the manufacture?

We already live in a world where AI is a part of our everyday life. Everything is controlled by Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri. In 2020 we can expect great improvements in computer vision, emotion recognition, and many other inventions and improvements will have a huge impact on the manufacturing sector.

Some startup companies in the US are using AI already, among them are Osaro, Kindred, and Vicarious. They all rely on AI to do their manufacturing work. Kindred-company is using this technology to automate many brands such as GAP.

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg now invest in Vicarious and they are very happy about it.

Practical Improvement in Internet Technologies

This technological system is very hot on markets but there are not too many mainstream applications at this present moment. Many users and investors think that with 5G, this technology will create a connection between IoT applications and mainstream devices. This will be a winning combination.

Amazon recently published the Amazon Go system capable to use IoT efficiently and technologies for computer vision to help users to buy without any manual check out. Our environment will be more filled with vision technologies and various kinds of sensors, enabling more scalable IoT solutions. Startup companies such as Grabango (U.S.), AiFi (U.S.), Standard Cognition (U.S.), Grabango (U.S.), Accel Robotics (U.S.) developed a similar platform like Amazon Go.

New technologies named Edge Computing and Processing Power

In 2020 we will have an increased need for better performance but this will require edge computing hardware solutions and much better sensor technology to improve AI to the point where AI will be able to host and use new applications. This is just the beginning of a new era because we now have a greater need to infer more data and then make decisions before we send that data to the cloud.

Startup companies such as Wave Computing (U.S.), SambaNova (U.S.), Cerebral (U.S.), and some others are now developing architectures to meet the demand which is constantly increasing. For that, we need better-performing AI chips - known as brain chips or neuromorphic chips. These chips are capable to mimic the brain structure and process the most complicated AI algorithms.

Quantum Computing for Commercial Use

Experts believe that the quantum computing era will start in 2020. Maybe not, because of the virus, but we will see in the coming years the beginning of the quantum computing era, and the first user will be the healthcare industry and energy production industry. Health care will need the ability to handle big data in 2020 because of the cancer treatments, DNA analysis, and nuclear energy control that will need this system for energy control. Several corporations have already moved on quantum computing: Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Alibaba, Google.

Startup companies QC Ware (U.S.), Rigetti (U.S.) are working on technical applications of this system. This technology will inevitably grow as it becomes easier to use it on platforms such as Amazon Web Services and others.
